How to Fill Your Pod & Avoid Burnt Coils
Filling your vape pod correctly is essential for good flavour and to prevent burnt coils. Different pod systems use different filling methods, so it’s important to understand how your device works.
Most vape pods use one of the following filling styles:
- Side-fill pods:
Remove the pod, open the silicone plug on the side, and fill slowly. Make sure it’s sealed properly before putting it back. - Top-fill pods:
These are filled from the top by removing the mouthpiece or sliding open the cap, making them quick and convenient to use. - Bottom-fill pods:
Some pods are filled from the base by removing the pod and opening the seal underneath.
Inside every pod is a coil wrapped with cotton. This cotton needs to fully absorb the vape liquid before you start using it. If the cotton is still dry when you fire the device, it can burn, leading to a harsh taste and damaging the coil.
After filling, always let your pod sit for 5–10 minutes to allow the liquid to soak into the cotton properly. Taking a few gentle puffs without activating the device can also help speed up the process.
To keep your coil in good condition, avoid letting the pod run dry and try not to chain vape, especially when the pod is new. Keeping the cotton properly saturated will give you better flavour and a longer-lasting pod.
